KBV_201

We welcome KBV 201 to Landskrona

KBV 202 left the shipyard in Landskrona in February, and earlier this week the next vessel in the KBV 201 series arrived.

NjordX technicians have already been on board to inspect and document the existing communication and navigation equipment on the bridge. This includes a footprint, where all existing equipment is mapped and documented.

The work on KBV 201 represents the second phase of the project to the lifetime extension of the vessels in the KBV 201 series. The new design, featuring updated solutions for navigation, communication and internal communication, was developed by NjordX and MilDef in autumn 2024 and is now also being implemented on KBV 201.

NjordX will begin with an extensive dismantling of all equipment on the bridge. Some equipment will be replaced with new systems, while some will be reinstalled. Delivery of the relevant products, installation and commissioning will be carried out in cooperation between NjordX and MilDef.

– We thank Oresund DryDocks and the Swedish Coast Guard for their continued trust in allowing us, together with MilDef, to carry out this lifetime extension also on KBV 201. This will ensure that the Swedish Coast Guard can continue operating the KBV 201 series for another 20–25 years, until around 2050, says Peter Nilsson, DCEO at NjordX.

All work is carried out at the shipyard in Landskrona and is scheduled to be completed by the end of November 2026.
